1. Offer Them Help When They Need It
This should be the first thing you should do when your partner is going through a tough time - asking them if they need any help in facing their problems. This would let them know that you are there for them. If they do say that they need help, offer yourself to help them, and ask them what you need to do to help.
2. Be Patient And Show Your Support
When your partner tells you that they don’t need help and they want to be left alone for the meantime, then give them that space. Please do not force yourself to help them when they have already told you that they can face it alone. Sometimes, there are things that people need to do alone. If they say they can do it, then let them be. Just be patient on allowing them to work on something alone and assure them that you are there for support.
3. Remind Them How Great They Are
If your partner is going through something that would make them feel anxious and insecure about themselves, then make sure that you don’t let them forget how awesome they are. Give them words of encouragement and positive reinforcement. During their downtimes, it is your job to be their cheerleader! Motivate them by giving them positive vibes.
4. Find Things To Do To Make Them Forget About Their Woes
When you feel so sad and depressed, do you catch yourself saying, “I just want to forget?” Well, that might be what your significant other is thinking, and that is what you should help them. Make them forget by doing something fun or maybe something that would involve thinking. When their mind is occupied by something else already, then it would be difficult for them to think of whatever is bothering them.
5. Remember That It Is About Them
One thing you shouldn't do when trying to help them get through their tough time is to compare yourselves to them. Don't talk about how you got through a similar situation because everyone handles things differently. Everyone has their limits. Also, don't get mad at them for not being able to do anything beneficial for you. Their tough time is about them; if you can't say anything that would help them, then give them space.
6. Try Throwing In Some Intimate Time
If all you have already tried the things we have mentioned above, then maybe it is time to throw in some sex in the air. Some say that sexy time can help someone forget about whatever difficult time they are going through. Sex is known to release some energy, and that includes letting go of negative energy. You never know, maybe being there for them physically and sexually would be a great help for them.
