Having a baby is an exciting moment for a couple, and for all of their friends and family too. People are also very excited to get creative and funny with their pregnancy announcements and when they share the news with everyone they love. Although creativity is always appreciated, sometimes it can be taken too far. Please Don't Kick the Baby
It seems that people are running out of creative ways to announce that they are expecting a baby. Even if this couple is a huge fan of soccer and they are big players, this is still a pretty strange way to announce a pregnancy. The big round belly can appear to be ball like in shape, but who wants to associate violence and kicking like this with their pregnant wife?
It even looks like she is trying to tell him to stop. What is the message that they are trying to get across in this announcement?
Time for Round Three
Much like other examples on this list, this picture is also associating pregnancy with violence...in the form of boxing. However, this one seems a lot less aggressive and violent than the others. It is also more creative and makes more sense as it incorporates the whole family. They are acknowledging that it will be difficult, but they are ready for the challenge and excited to get started. And all of the family is ready together.
They seem like a cute family who is really eagerly expecting the next addition to the gang. It would be funny if they did a similar announcement for each of their children. How many rounds would there be?
That's a Strange Way to Put It...
There is nothing quite like the miracle of life. The fact that there is another human being growing inside of a woman never ceases to be miraculous. However, this family decided that they wanted to share the announcement of this new miracle of life in a very strange way. They announced the gender of the baby and the fact that they were pregnant at the same time. And the way they chose to do it was quite strange.
It does seem to be a bit of a crude way to announce a baby's gender. However, it does save them the effort of planning a gender reveal party.
Destroying Nature for a Gender Reveal
The amount of effort and creativity that people have started putting into gender reveal parties is quite impressive. However, it looks like some people are taking it a little too far. This couple decided to dye an entire natural waterfall blue for their gender reveal. However, they made no efforts to ensure that the dye was safe and would not harm the wildlife in the area while they did so.
They are not really creating the best environment for their child to grow up in are they? They are polluting the world and nature just to have a cool looking party.
Pee Stick Popsicle Announcement
Although this is certainly a very creative idea, it is not the most sanitary one. People get very excited to share the news of a positive pregnancy test with their partner, however, there is no need to hide the pee stick inside of a popsicle for the partner to discover. Although it would certainly be a surprise (after all, who would think that their partner would place a pee stick in a popsicle), there may be better ways to surprise.
The craziest part of this is that it clearly has gone viral on social media and has lots of likes and shares. People are loving this unsanitary idea!
The Imagery Is a Little Too Strong Here
A good pun and play on words are always appreciated...when it is done tastefully. This couple excelled with the creativity, however, they struggled with the appropriateness. There is really no need to provide such strong and innaproiiate imagery in a pregnancy announcement. After all, there are probably children (like the one in the picture) who would see this and start asking questions. Is that how you want to start explaining the birds and the bees?
They probably could have thought of a better way to incorporate the Christmas theme into their pregnancy announcement, without bringing about strange imagery in the process.
That's a Strange Thing to Call Your Daughter
This is not really the way that you want to announce to the world that you are expecting another child...by saying that you hoped your previous child would be a preventative and have a negative effect on your sex life. However, it looks like that is exactly what this family chose to do and they used their daughter as the face of their pregnancy announcement, Maybe they will look back one day and be ashamed.
It is a good thing that their daughter's face is blocked out of this photo as who would want to be associated with this? Hopefully, if she sees this one day, she'll think it's funny.
A Halo of Medical Waste
Having a child through IVF is not an easy task. There are so many shots and medicines that you have to take, it truly feels like a miracle that you were able to have a child. This couple wanted to show that all of the challenges worked in the end and they were able to have their miracle child. However, at the same time, it is not the safest place to put your newbord child.
The parents should remember that, at the end of the day, these are still considered medical waste and a newborn's health is very fragile. They should not endanger them in this way.
Everyone Should Be Disturbed (or Desterbed) by This Pregnancy Announcement
This pregnancy announcement is concerning on so many levels. Beyond the fact that this woman is proudly declaring that the man she is with is supposed to be locked up in jail, they also seem pretty cocky about their spelling...which is very clearly poor. Everyone should be disturbed (or desterbed) by this announcement. There is a concern for the safety of the child as well as concern for the safety of the woman.
Perhaps no one even wants to know why the man should be locked up but isn't. They do not specifically say why, but it's strange that they are proud of that fact.
Gender Stereotypes at Its Finest
There is nothing quite like seeing that a new baby's parents will be raising the child to follow exactly in the gender stereotypes that the world is trying to progress past. It is sad to think that they are dividing the world of their unborn child into heels for girls and cars for boys. There is no reason that either side can't have either of those things if they want.
At least they did say "and/or" when they listed the heels or wheels. However, the concept still does not make that much sense and really comes across as unprogressive.
There Is a Lot Going on in This Picture
It's hard to decide where to let your eyes settle when you look at this picture. There is so much going on and so many people that it is hard to figure out exactly what is going on. Who is the pregnant one here? And why is everything so negative? And why is there a child so close to her by the toilet as she is throwing up? So many questions.
It's probably safe to assume that this was a surprise child and that the first pregnancy was quite a difficult one, with many days of morning sickness...if that is what they are choosing to focus on in their next pregnancy announcement.
Instead of Boy or Girl It's Princess or Killer
Why on earth are they comparing a girl and a boy to a princess and a killer? The princess for the girl is understandable, but why does the boy have to be a killer? Who would come to celebrate this strange sort of party? What kind of parents are excited that their unborn son could grow up to be a killer one day? And they have the audacity to say "leave the drama at home" in the caption.
In case you thought this was some sort of mistake, the creepy dolls are there to remind you that it is indeed exactly what they meant. The girl is dressed as a princess and the boy with a gun, as a killer.
Allergic to the Child
There is no doubt that there are plenty of people in the world who are allergic to nuts. It seems to be trending lately all around the world. What does this have to do with pregnancy announcements, you might ask? Well, this couple decided to focus on the nuts of their child in their announcement, telling anyone who is allergic to nuts that they must stay away. It is a strange concept.
Although it is a creative way to announce that you are having a boy, it is a very strange one. Is that really what you want all your friends and family to focus on?
When the Ultrasound Looks Like Trump
Imagine you are expecting a baby. Your excitement is through the roof and all you want to do is enjoy the first glimpse of your baby that you can get by looking at the ultrasound. You are excited to share it with your family as well so that they can share in the joy. But when you send it to your family, you get a response like this one...it would be devastating.
No one wants to hear that their new baby looks like Trump in the ultrasound (even if it is true). It doesn't seem like the best way to start off a pregnancy.
Will It Be a Fishe or a Fishe?
Although this one is pretty difficult to read, you definitely have to give them an A for effort. It is unique and creative and funny once you understand it. It is also harmless and appropriate (something that cannot be said of the majority of announcements on this list). It is a little difficult to understand at first due to the similarities in the wording, but once you get it, it's worth it.
They even created a cute cake to show it. All in all, this one is definitely one of the better ones on the list, and even worth replicating.
Is It an Announcement or a Memorial?
This pregnancy announcement might leave people a little bit confused. As you see a picture of an ultrasound along with a teddy bear and a lit candle, you might be led to believe that this is not actually a pregnancy announcement at all, but a very tragic announcement of a memorial service. You can even see the shadows of the parents in the background adding to the vibe of the depressing picture.
The dusk background and the overall gloominess of the photo do not make you think "exciting pregnancy announcement". On the contrary, you think something tragic happened to the baby.
An Interesting Type of Bun
You'd be surprised how many parents focus on the concept of nuts in their pregnancy announcement. Although it is an obvious play on words, it does seem like a strange thing to focus on. This announcement also seemed like quite a mess to put together. The parents probably had to clean up for a while after this photoshoot. At least the kids were able to have some fun in the process.
The concept of "a bun in the oven" is also pretty prevalent in the pregnancy announcement world, however, the addition and focus on the nuts is what made this one more unique.
The Effects of Quarantine
So many people came out of quarantine with an entirely new life for themselves...or an entirely new life within themselves. This couple wanted to tell the world that quarantine had a special effect on them and they ended up pregnant at the end of it. They also wanted to clarify that this is not a food belly as some people experienced after quarantine, but a real child and pregnancy belly.
This one is not quite as bad as some of the others on the list. Although no one is too curious about how you spent your time in quarantine, it is pretty harmless in the end.
He Should Be Sorry for a Few Things
In case you ever accidentally get someone pregnant, don't be like this man here. Although it is a nice thought to get the woman a cake with your apologies written on it, maybe he should have made sure that the person making the cake could spell the word "pregnant" before finishing the cake. He should really be sorry for many different things here, including his spelling and his pregnancy mistake.
Imagine being so unprepared for a baby that the father of the child needs to come with an apology cake for you. That sounds like two people who are not ready to be parents.
That's Not How a Pregnancy Test Works
In the rare case that you are able to successfully read this entire post, know that you are among the rare few. Most people can only make it a few words in before giving up. However, to summarize, this man was upset that a woman was claiming he was the father of her baby. He didn't think it was possible that he got her pregnant so to disprove her, he bought a pregnancy test and tested his urine and it came out negative (obviously).
He then called her a liar for claiming he was the father as "this test was proof". Clearly, he does not know how a pregnancy test works in the least bit.
That's Not Really a Tie There, Buddy
It looks like this couple does not really understand the concept of a tie breaker. Although they were confident enough to theme their pregnancy announcement around it, they should have thought it through a bit more before sharing it with friends and family. If they had a tie they would have one boy and one girl and the next baby would be the tie breaker. However, they already have two boys and just one girl.
If anything this new baby will make it a tie and an even number in the house. There is no circumstance where it could be the tie breaker.
The Child's Eviction Notice
Although it is a bit of a negative connotation when it comes to a child, the idea of giving your kid an eviction notice isn't too offensive at the end of the day. It is a little bit funny too as that is pretty much how it works. When the baby is ready, it is essentially given an eviction notice from the body. This woman is just announcing that date.
Maybe she was waiting a long time in the hospital for the baby to be born and it was much past the due date...hence the immediate eviction notice.
They Are Brewing a Witch Child
Unless this couple consists of witches, this seems to be a strange concept for the announcement of a new child. Or maybe they are expecting the child to be born sometime around Halloween and that is the reason for the theme. Either way, it is a bit strange to think that they are saying that their new baby is brewing in the cauldron and their current children are brewing them.
Maybe they are casting some positive spells on the baby as well...hopefully only positive things though, despite the theme of the announcement.
At Least They Are Honest
At least this couple understands the disproportionate amount of effort that goes into a baby between a mother and father...especially in the creation and growing phases before they are born. They know that most of the work (9 months of growing and nurturing) are done by the mother, while just a few minutes of work are done by the father. It is a bit inapporiotite to focus on, but at least honest.
Can you imagine having your child wear a shirt like this one? It might make people laugh at least when they pass by the baby and see the shirt.
The Pregnant Fun Dip
Right along with the pregnancy test as a popsicle stick, you are now presented with the pregnancy stick Fun Dip. Although this is clearly not the real pregnancy test (it looks must too small and short), the concept is still a bit disturbing and gross. For context and for those who do not know, Fun Dip sticks need to be wet before the dip will stick, so the associate with urine is strong here.
It is at least a creative concept, even if it is not the most sanitary one. You can really only hope that this is not the real pregnancy test.
Vitamin D on a Vacation
Maybe it's for the best that this couple has their faces blocked out of the photos as this is a pretty cringe worthy pregnancy announcement. They told everyone that they went on vacation together, had a good time together, and returned pregnant. They also made a cringey pun related to vitamin D...with an interesting choice of a play on words. It seemed like an unnecessary way to explain it to everyone.
It would have been a much better pregnancy announcement if they just had a picture of the two of them on the beach with the ultrasound photo. The pun was not really necessary here.
Planting All Kinds of Seeds
There are many different types of corn and seeds that were planted in this picture. There is a field of corn and a very corny joke. There are also plenty of corn plants and the obvious play on words in seed planting related to a baby. It looks like they wanted to make it appear as if Kory was a busy farmer and gardener, planting seeds everywhere he goes and growing great things.
Maybe this sort of joke would resonate more with a farming community. But others might see it is as a little crude. Maybe only gardeners and farmers can truly appreciate the pun.
When It's All About the Banging
You wouldn't think that couples would want to focus ont the concept of banging, being banged, and wanting to bang when they announce their pregnancy, but you'd be surprised how many of them would. This couple even made special t-shirts that show how the woman is banged up and that the man is "just here to bang". They probably had to be selective with who they sent these announcements to.
Nothing like the father proudly declaring that he is just there to bang and for no other reason at all. It is not really the most fatherly message to portray.
They Have a Baby in Custody
In case you didn't get the jist, it appears that one of the parents in this situation is a police officer. Either that or they are weirdly obsessed with the police force. Hopefully, it is the former and then this is actually a cute theme for an announcement. They use lots of puns like "we got one in custody" and "backup on the way". It would probably go over well with the other cops that they work with.
They even included handcuffs to make it very clear that they actually have the baby in custody. It is nice and creative if it is a police family.
Trick or... Pregnancy Announcement
There are so many things wrong with this pregnancy announcement. To start in the beginning, why are they announcing that they are pregnant to all of the children that are coming to their house on Halloween? Why would any of the children want to know that or even understand the ultrasound pictures? Also, why on earth would they ever choose that horrible and impossible to read font, even if they are Disney lovers?
The number of kids that actually read that sign before grabbing candy and leaving: 0. Maybe they just felt too excited with the news that they had to share it with absolutely everyone.
The Handmaids Tale Pregnancy Annoucement
Nothing screams run for your life more than a pregnancy announcement based on the incredibly disturbing series called the Handmaids Tale. You can only hope that this couple is ignorant and never watched the series, otherwise, it is a pretty scary thought that they would voluntarily create a theme like this for their announcement. Who wants to portray their wife as a pregnant sex slave while he is portrayed as someone who sexually assaults women?
It seems that this couple did not fully understand the concepts of that series...or they are pretty disturbed. If it is the latter, they should keep those strange thoughts to themselves.
Dinosaur Babies Hatching
This one is actually much funnier and far less cringe than the majority of pregnancy announcements on this list. They actually managed to be quite funny and creative at the same time. They set up a picture of a dinosaur and an egg and added two signs with text. The signs said "hearing the pitter patter of little monster feet" and "baby Shumway hatching August 2020". It is clever and cute at the same time.
There are very few people who will see the creativity of this and not appreciate all the effort and thought that went into it. A+ for effort and execution.
That's a Pretty Disgusting Recipe
It is not very often that you will see parents proudly talking about how the baby was made in their pregnancy announcement. Many soon to be parents will include the "recipe for a baby" or baking concept when they announce to their friends and family that they are expecting. While the ingredients are usually things like "lots of love" or "hugs and kisses", this couple took things much too literally.
It would have been much better if they left out the last ingredient on the list. There was absolutely no need to include that in the announcement and everyone knows how babies are actually made.
Baseball and Baby Announcements
This is not the first sports related announcement that you will see on this list. There was already a boxing and a soccer themed announcement. However, just as with the soccer themed announcement, this one is also quite disturbing. Who wants to associate a baby with a baseball and the man holding a baseball bat? As you usually hit a baseball with a bat, it is not really the best imagine.
Even if this couple is avid fans of baseball, this is not really the best way to show the world you are excited about your new baby. It would probably leave them more concerned.
A Belly Full of Bumble Bees
The first question you might ask yourself when you see this image is...why? Why would anyone want to have their pregnant belly covered with bumble bees for the sake of a photo? This woman chose to cover herself in bumble bees (despite the fact that she is horribly allergic) with the queen bee tethered to her belly. Why would she ever want to put her and her baby in this sort of danger, even if it was approved by her doctor?
She is so allergic that she gets welts that last for weeks when she is stung by a bee and yet she is standing here completely unprotected exposing her pregnant belly to the risk.
A Barcode for a Baby
Although the barcode is probably the last thing you noticed when you looked at this pregnancy announcement, it actually may be the most disturbing. The spanking and the crude phrasing was on the onesie are of course reasons for alarm, however, who wants to have a barcode article of clothing for their child? Hopefully, they threw that away as soon as they took this picture and no child will ever have to wear that onesie.
It is strange to see this couple smiling and laughing as they take this photo with the inappropriate piece of clothing on display. A simple "we're pregnant" could have sufficed.
Starting a Herd of Your Own
In case you ever wanted to start your own herd of babies (that's not really a thing), this couple is ready to show you how. They chose to announce that they were pregnant by putting the woman's head in a cow's cage and holding a sign next to her that says BRED. The man is even comeplete with a long plastic glove as would be used in artificial insemination of cows and other livestock.
You wouldn't think that a woman would be happy to portray herself as a cow that was bred or that a man would want his wife and the mother of his child to be portrayed that way.
Unnecessary Intimate Details
Even if the woman wanted to make it clear that her husband had very little to do with the creation of this baby, it is strange to think that the man would agree to having such an image shared with all of their family and friends. It really puts some imagery into the context of their pregnancy announcement that no one really needed or wanted to have in their head.
If you didn't read the wording of this announcement, you might actually think that it is a normal one, based on the lovey-dovery picture of the couple and the aesthetic.
Children for Sale... Yet They Are Having More
It's no secret that children are a lot of work. You will be staying up endless hours in the night and your ability to sleep in (or sleep at all) is practically gone until they are adults. However, when you are announcing more children coming into your family, you do usually still try to keep it positive. However, this couple went straight for the "kids for sale" idea, even including their kids in the picture.
Although it is undoubtedly a lot of work to have two sets of twins, you also don't need to tell the whole world that you're not happy about it.
Delivery of the Baby Load
This couple consists of a woman and a man who works as a truck driver. Although the husband has long hours and stretches of time where he is away from home, he wanted to make it clear that he was also able to "deliver his load" and get his wife pregnant. You can commend them for trying to be creative with the theme of the man's career, however, it is still not necessarily what people want to think of when they first hear that they are expecting a baby.
They really put a lot of thought and effort into this announcement, with multiple layers to explain their message. They have the image of the man in front of the truck, the t-shirt with the text, and the picture of the pregnant woman for "proof".
