If Only Exercise Could Actually Stop Cramps
We can't call the idea that women wouldn't get bad cramps if they exercised valid, but we can call it wishful thinking. As strange as it sounds, this would be helpful for women around that time of the month who'd prefer to be pain-free for a while. Painful cycles have nothing to do with food or exercise, yet a woman's life would be so much simpler if that were the case since nobody would ever say that they like cramps.
Some people seem to have all kinds of theories when it comes to women and menstruating, but it looks like those belong in nothing more than a fairytale or a storybook.
No, Women Don't Shower With Pads
We'd like to give a shoutout to the girl in his picture for her pure honesty since most people tend to keep any information about their cycles private. Of course, somewhere out there, from the vast corners of the internet, a person had to make some kind of comment. The thing is, some people just don't understand normal bodily functions and aren't even too afraid to make that well known.
It's true; women don't shower with pads or any kind of feminine products when that time of the month comes around because that just wouldn't make any sense at all.
An Old Time Myth That Makes No Sense
It turns out that when trains were invented, they could only drive less than 50 miles an hour because there was a general fear of a women's uterus flying out of their body. Women may not have had many rights back then, but maybe everyone just wanted to protect that uterus. It would be great to know who the first brave person was to test out this theory and then prove all of society wrong.
We're happy to say that the uterus stays firmly in place regardless of speed, but it seems like women were considered way more fragile than they are at one point.
A Lack of Eggs Still Equals Life
Someone actually turned to a public forum to get an answer to a question that's been circling their head. They thought that since a woman is born with enough egg cells for a lifetime, that lifespan could be measured by the quantity of those eggs. Thankfully, life doesn't actually work that way since there are a lot of women who don't have a single egg and are still living life to the fullest.
Fortunately, not having too many eggs doesn't mean a woman will live a shorter life because, in this case, quantity doesn't exactly equal quality when it comes to being alive.
Nobody Buys Tampons Just for Fun
Believe it or not, women actually buy tampons because they need them and would happily leave them on the shelves if not. Cycles typically come once a month, so there's no reason for lawmakers to worry about women buying too many tampons if they passed a tax exemption. It's not like women can just magically decide when to start needing tampons, and they certainly have zero control over the frequency, too.
It seems like the author of this Forbes article was trying to say lawmakers are worried that people will be buying too many tampons just because of the lower prices.
When the Doctor Isn't Always Right
Women work out and are just as strong as anyone else- in case you didn't know. This doctor's office had the right idea and probably the best intentions when they put up these two exercise and muscle guides. The men's version is a lot more reserved and happens to be focusing on the barbell as opposed to the body. In the women's diagram, it seems like she's in the middle of a movie stunt.
Doctors really are right about most things, but these two diagrams are far from accurate. That's because most women aren't doing splits while simultaneously lifting heavy weights at the gym.
An Explanation That's Far From Scientific
The internet poster claims that there's a reason why they think women are always colder than men, and it has something to do with guys having an extra layer of skin. There's definitely a lack of actual scientific evidence that could back up this interesting claim. So we're just going to go ahead and say that it simply isn't true- men and women certainly both have the same amount of skin layers.
Someone really turned to the internet to provide the world with an explanation as to why women are always colder than men- the only issue is that it makes zero sense.
An Uncontrollable Force of Nature
He's right about one thing- do what makes you happy, and women would probably be the happiest people on earth if they were able to control their monthly cycles. Unfortunately, it's actually not something that's possible, and we really do hope this person's statement was nothing more than sarcastic. He's recommending women stop having their periods since they make them unhappy, but things just don't really work like that in real life.
Just like many other naturally occurring things, women don't have any control over their monthly cycle, and even though there was some kindness in this person's intention, it didn't work out.
Why Products and Gender Can't Mix
Someone proudly claims that men's and women's razors aren't the same at all and that women should beware since their skin could fall off if they use one. That's due to a completely made-up biological skin difference that is hard to believe. If we lived in a world where men's razors destroy women's skin, then men's shampoo just really might turn women into stone. Thankfully, we don't live in that world.
If you're a woman and you use men's razors to have since they usually work better, then there's no reason to stop doing it because your skin will be just fine.
It's Time to Go Back to Biology Class
One thing you'll never hear a biology teacher say is that women have a lower IQ than men just because their brains are smaller. There isn't much scientific evidence to even back that up in the first place, so it's safe to say this couldn't be a thing. On top of having a low IQ, the original poster also thinks that women's bodies are weak, so they can't handle a man-sized brain.
Some people really do believe everything they read online, but hopefully, any rational person who came across this thought while surfing the web would realize it isn't true at all.
Passing Gas Isn't Gender Exclusive
Passing gas is a part of life, and whether you like to admit it or not, it's something everyone does on a daily. Here, someone said that women smell more than men because they pass less gas, which really isn't the case- and most women smell great in general. In fact, women would probably say that they aren't shy in this department and might even think that men are actually smellier than they are.
We all do it- but it seems like some people think that women just don't have that ability. It could be because they're simply distracted by the sound of their own gas.
Veins Are a Much Needed Thing
Some people judge others on factors that they can't control, and that's pretty much what's happening here. In this case, a person is commenting on this woman's Instagram because her veins were much too visible for his liking. He might be shocked to know that women have circulatory systems just like men and actually need veins to keep on living, whether they're they like the way they look or not.
It seems like some men are either disappointed or disgusted by the fact that women have visible veins, but it's not like they're able to control what they look like.
An Internet Roast That Never Ends
Natural science was thrown right out the door when a person named Richard Cooper posted his theory about why women train to have abs- and according to him, it's because they want to look like men. While this, one hundred percent isn't true in itself, he also decided to speak for all men by saying that every man is attracted to a feminine figure. Of course, that means no abs are allowed.
Some women train for abs, but it's not because they want to look like men. Men and women are naturally built to have abs- it's not something women have magically manifested.
A Gender Theory That's Hard to Consider
One thing's certain, not all women have a natural curve in their spine that starts at the bra level. Maybe some do, and if it were there, it definitely has nothing to do with maintaining balance while pregnant. It's funny that some people still don't understand women in our modern day and age and still enjoy coming up with their own theory about the proportion of an entire gender's feet just because they can
For some reason, someone took a frame from a movie Nicole Kidman was acting in and took the time to analyze the curve of her back before posting that analysis online.
Someone Who Doesn't Understand Stretch Marks
Someone found a part of a book where a character was trying to figure out the age of a woman and determined that she definitely had a baby just because she had stretch marks. Actually, stretch marks can result from many other factors, like weight gain or an injury, and they aren't exclusive to women. In general, men and women might not fully understand each other when it comes to certain things, but in reality, we have a lot of similarities.
Other than the fact that men can also get stretch marks, if a woman does have them, it doesn't always have to do with giving birth or being a mother.
Nobody Likes a Mansplainer
This woman is in her final year as a genetic engineering student at university, which means she's very much educated on how genetic codes work. She can also confirm that the genetic codes of a woman don't change after marrying into another family, even though her uncle believes this. Regardless of a woman's college degree or education, some people just don't understand women and how they work in general, which is kind of unfortunate.
Mansplaining really is a modern-day epidemic where some men (not all) comment on things that have nothing to do with them or choose to base that same comment on non-existing science.
If Women Were Like Werewolves
Two things you'll never find a woman doing are howling at the moon like a werewolf and menstruating whenever that same moon is full. We'd really love to know why this coach thinks all women get their periods when the moon is big and bright. Mainly because someone had to have told him that at some point while also making it sound super convincing. They also think women tend to play better sports when the moon is full.
One thing this coach did get right is that women do play sports just as well as men, but the whole full moon period thing is a little bit concerning.
Something That Can't Be Left Behind
The one thing about a behind is that they kind of follow you everywhere, from work to home; the way your body looks is literally a part of you. For some reason, the person who commented on this woman thought she looked too good for work and should have left all that back home. Of course, both life and body don't work like that- and we can assure you her range of motion is great.
Most of the time, law enforcement officers don't get to choose their uniforms since they all dress the same, so there's no controlling how an officer looks in them either.
Lips Aren't Always Naturally Red
A character from a book called "Name of the Wind" believed that a woman he saw was considered perfect because her lips were a bright and beautiful red color without any makeup. Although the natural color of a woman's lips varies, the only way to get them to look bright red is through makeup. Indeed, lips are definitely given to women by mother nature, but that color is usually from lipstick.
Some people claim that women are hard to understand, especially when they're out of a book or a film. Fiction isn't always true, but that doesn't mean that men and women aren't the same.
He Thinks Menstrual Pain Is a Myth
A person online thinks that menstrual pain is a myth, and we can, unfortunately, say that he likely isn't the only man to believe this. A broken heart does hurt, and so do homelessness and hunger, amongst other painful things- and yes, there are plenty that could go on that list. Someone just happened to place menstrual pain in that same category, and someone was quick to do his best to refute that comparison since they don't believe in cramps.
Menstrual pain is an actual thing, and any woman would certainly agree with that. While that very much is painful, broken hearts might hurt just as much as a period.
People Don't Know Much About Periods
This sister discovered that her two brothers know nothing about women's pads or how they work. According to them, they actually need to be inserted- and when she told them that they stick to a woman's underwear, they were very confused. These brothers were under the impression that period products have to be stuck to a woman's body and not what their wearing, which couldn't be farther from the truth.
These two brothers probably need to go back to their education class in high school because it looks like they weren't paying attention to the lecture about women's general health.
Women Aren't Really Related to Squids
Somewhere out there in the world is a human who never knew that mascara existed and thought that women just cry ink like squids do. He definitely also thinks that women who are wearing mascara just have naturally full and dark eyelashes since he's never heard of makeup in general. Fortunately, they do make waterproof mascara nowadays so that women can freely cry without looking like they're some kind of sea animal.
Squids are pretty cool creatures that live in the ocean, but women don't get dark streak marks on their eyes because they're part squid- it's just from makeup or mascara.
A Place Where Babies Don't Grow
Looking at a sonogram can undoubtedly be a unique experience, especially for the involved parents, but we wouldn't call it weird. The person that made this comment seems like he doesn't understand the general location of a womb, which is in the front end of a woman and not the back. Regardless of the area, women really do kind of have to get comfortable when getting a sonogram, but the only thing being seen is the baby.
Someone truly needs to provide this person with some clarification since he seems not to understand how or where babies grow and, yes, the answer is inside of a womb.
Pregnancy Isn't a One Time Thing
Someone found out that their friend thought pregnancy could only happen one time, and they were kind of shocked to hear it wasn't true. Not only that, but they also thought that women have seeds inside of their body that can determine when another kid would come or if they were done having children. Women do have eggs, but not seeds, that's for sure. Seeds can definitely reproduce things like plants or vegetables, but not human beings.
Many things in life are only one use, but the human body doesn't work like that- especially regarding things like pregnancy. Plus, eggs can't determine how many kids a woman will have.
It's Not as Gross as It Sounds
Anyone who isn't a parent or just doesn't know much about the human body might think breastfeeding a kid is unusual. At least, that's exactly where this man's mind is at for the time being. They seem to believe that a mom's milk is just a basic fluid with no benefits, which isn't close to the truth. Also, cows aren't the only creatures to produce milk- it's a mammal thing, and humans are one of them.
Breastfeeding isn't gross, and it's actually highly beneficial for both the mom and the baby. From nutrients and antigens to a great bonding experience, there isn't anything unsual about breastfeeding a kid.
If We're Living, Then We're Human
An online account posted about how it's hard for them to believe that women do the same things as men. Even though there is a ton of publicly accessible education when it comes to gender in general, men and women are still struggling to understand common gender traits. To the surprise of some, women actually eat food and spend some time on the toilet when needed, which isn't the slightest bit shocking to most people.
Amongst many similarities, men and women both eat food and even use the bathroom. Even though some people would choose not to believe this, it really is the absolute truth.
A Science Class, Minus the Science
A former student turned to the internet to share their story of an unforgettable moment when they were in a sixth-grade science class. Like most of us once learned, there was a lecture about yeast, and the students were able to have a hands-on experience with it. The issue is that the teacher wouldn't allow the girls to touch it, implying that they could catch an infection when in reality, things don't actually work like that.
Most science teachers are pretty well educated about how a woman's body works, but this specific teacher clearly isn't like most. Although since he does teach high school, so he should probably learn.
There's a Due Date for a Reason
Someone on the internet had a pretty valid question about babies and birth, and we can understand where it came from. They wanted to know if a baby keeps on doing its thing in the womb if it decides not to enter the world on its due date. Fortunately, due dates are there for a reason, and most babies are born by the general nine months and don't just hang around until they feel like it.
There are lots of wonders and questions around pregnancy, and since not everyone can get pregnant, people start to come up with their own theories about how things work.
Where One Thing Doesn't Equal the Other
A female marine was having a very ordinary day on the job until she walked by her desk and noticed that one of her coworkers had thrown away her tampons. She was kind of shocked to hear the reasoning behind why he did it, and you probably will be too. He said it's because they're equivalent to condoms, and if men can't have those, then women shouldn't be allowed to have tampons in their desks.
Needless to say, these two items really do have very different general functions, and we really do hope that we don't have to explain why since it's actually pretty obvious.
A Downside to Dating Someone Younger
It seems like this woman typically dates men around her age because she explicitly pointed out that this specific date was younger than her. That time of the month also happened to be visiting during her date, and he was amazed to hear that she still got her period- and she was slightly concerned at that point. He thought she wouldn't get it since she's 43 and was surprised to hear that women over the age of thirty still menstruate.
Younger people might not always understand the general knowledge that older people do, which could have been why her younger date ended up asking such a silly and surprising question.
An Anesthesiologist Who's Bad at His Job
A hospital worker wasn't afraid to share her anesthesia horror story, and although the experience didn't involve her, she didn't like what she was hearing. Apparently, a coresident said he'd never let his wife get an epidural while she was giving birth, mainly before 3cm. According to him, it would make her pretty weak, and the experience would be "too easy." After hearing him say this, the coworker was seriously ready to throw some punches.
This anesthesiologist had no problems giving a patient who was in the middle of childbirth pain medication unless it was his wife- he would rather her suffer through it all.
Why Education Really Does Matter
A woman went to a Catholic school in the 1990s, and they never taught the students anything about men's and women's reproductive health. Due to this, the student grew up thinking that menstruation lasts forever and even felt that she could get pregnant by simply petting a dog. If the school she attended taught about essential things, she probably wouldn't have thought she was carrying a dog-baby in her stomach for all that time.
There are certain schools that refrain from teaching about men's and women's health since they consider that to be an inappropriate subject, but this story proves that education does matter.
One Thing That Babies Don't Do
Getting grossed out about your partner's monthly cycle is one thing, but assuming that your newborn baby has one, too, is another. It's pretty apparent that starting a period also equals the start of adulthood, which means babies aren't going to be experiencing that any time soon. For some reason, this dad is a bit confused and is saying that he refuses to change his baby's diaper when she does get it. Thankfully, that won't actually end up happening.
Babies do a lot of things, but they definitely don't have monthly cycles, and most adults are aware of that fact. It simply just wouldn't make sense if they did.
Water Doesn't Come With a Warning Label
The reason why water never comes with a warning label is because it's not dangerous, and yes, that means women with uteruses aren't in danger. The person here thinks that women should avoid drinking large amounts of water while standing because it can make their uterus weak. This statement is so ridiculous, and the more background they provide background to support this claim, the more it starts to seem like some kind of confusing joke.
This internet poster had a very odd theory about women and drinking, and it looks like about 204 thousand more people had several things to say to him in response.
People Can't Puke Babies
We're just going to go ahead and answer this person's question- no, a pregnant woman cannot throw up their baby. If so, that would be very problematic for all the soon-to-be mothers who suffer from morning sickness. That would also be a very strange medical mystery. Plenty of women throw up while pregnant, but those babies are certainly sitting comfortably in their place without making their way toward their mom's mouths as they're about to throw up.
Thankfully, the only kind of content coming out from your mouth when puking is whatever was sitting in your stomach and not your womb since they're not even connected to each other.
